The Global Best to Invest ranking, carried out annually by the leading magazine on foreign direct investment and economic development of the United States, Site Selection, placed investBA among the best of the region. This award aims to recognize the best performing foreign trade and investment promotion agencies in the world, classifying them according to the region to which they belong and whether they are national or sub-national institutions. 

In its first time being part of the ranking, the Buenos Aires agency stood out with the second position within the Latin America region. The list was led by Invest Sao Paulo, the investment promotion agency of the city of São Paulo, while Edoméx (Mexico), Invest in Bogotá and InvestChile occupy the third, fourth and fifth place.

"This important recognition is the result of the work we do every day to make Buenos Aires one of the main places to do business in the region," said José Luis Giusti, Minister of Economic Development and Production of the City. 

Since its creation in January 2017, the agency has carried out different initiatives aimed at the strategic sectors of the City and also provides advisory services and technical assistance aimed for companies and investors in each stage of their expansion processes. To date, investBA has already accumulated more than 1,100 cases of softlanding, facilitation and investment aftercare services, as well as more than 1,600 beneficiaries in programs aimed at the internationalization of companies and more than 13,000 SMEs and entrepreneurs trained in foreign trade.

“Our mission as an Investment and Trade Promotion Agency is to locate Buenos Aires as an attractive place to do business, encouraging both local and foreign investment and promoting internationalization of Buenos Aires based companies ”,  added Alejo Rodríguez Cacio, investBA's General Director.

Site Selection's distinction is added to other awards received by the Buenos Aires agency: in early 2020, investBA was awarded by International Business Magazine as the best new agency in Latin America. Likewise, in March 2021, the prestigious Financial Times highlighted investBA's investment promotion strategy as one of the three best in the world in its Global Cities of the Future ranking.

According to the "Global Best to Invest" report, the choice of the winning agencies is made from the analysis of more than 8 international sources linked to global opportunities, ease of doing business, competitiveness and economic development, in addition to the survey of investment projects carried out by Site Selection in the 2016-2020 period.
